Well, we designated Tuesday morning as a “sleep in” morning, and everyone took advantage of it and slept in – Hayley being the winner by sleeping in the latest. We finally got our act together and got out the door around 1:3o pm. We were a family divided as neither Mali nor I were up for the Catacombs. I have no problem with skulls and bones, it’s the whole underground cave thing that I was worried about.
So, Dave, Hayley and Dillon went to the Catacombs, while Mali tagged along on my shopping spree. I had been walking past these great shops for over a week and not been able to actually “shop” in them, so today I was determined to see at least a few. Mali was a pretty good sport, all things considered, and we had a nice afternoon together.
The others had a great time down in the Catacombs. They said the first part was the worst – descending into the actual caves. But, after that , it was pretty cool. They were pretty much constantly surrounded by skulls and bones. They brought nutella and coconut crepes back to share – YUM!
The kids continue to beg to watch “LOST!” They are becoming little addicts! I have to say I would never let ANY of them watch this show back in the US. It is far too creepy and violent, but for some reason, I have succumbed, and here we are watching another episode of season one as a family.
After LOST, we decided to try out one of our nearby restaurants. Dave and I had been eyeing a pizza place on our nightly walks that we thought the kids would like. Turns out EVERYONE was super happy with their meals – success!!
We got the kids ready for bed and told them to go to bed at 10. Dave and I headed out for a walk along the Seine. The weather was PERFECT and we got out in time to watch the sunset. We walked along the river and then up by Notre Dame. We went in for a bit and looked around. We wandered around the streets for awhile, then headed home. We got home a little after 11 and all the kids were still awake. :)
Dave spent almost an hour on the phone trying to find someone at VISA fraud to help us. Our card has basically been blocked since the 3rd day we arrived in Europe – ridiculous! Dillon continues to be sick and has been coughing most of the night, so we will make an appointment for him to go to a local doctor tomorrow.
Cute Mali after our shopping spree.
